About this product.
The Matrice 4 Obstacle Sensing Module combines a rotating LiDAR with a millimetre-wave radar, supplementing the aircraft’s own sensing with obstacle detection out to 100 m.
DJI quotes an effective sensing speed of up to 15 m/s, measured against a 12 mm steel-core aluminium stranded wire: the thin-conductor case rather than a solid obstacle. DJI also states that obstacle avoidance and bypassing capabilities vary with the environment (clouds, fog, rain, snow) and with the material, position and shape of the object, and that the aircraft cannot actively avoid fast-moving objects.
The module weighs 235 g, measures 103.3 × 64 × 85.8 mm, is rated IP55 and operates from -20°C to 50°C. It fits the Matrice 4 and Matrice 4D Series.

The module
Which aircraft does it fit?
The Matrice 4D Series, and the Matrice 4 Series on the latest firmware with the Matrice 4 mounting bracket from the box.
How is it installed?
Fit it before powering the aircraft on, tighten the screws for the seal, re-tighten with the hex key on a dock, and attach the LiDAR positioning label to the dock cover as the manual shows, then activate online. It updates with the aircraft firmware.
What limits it?
Keep the radar dome clean. Rain, snow, fog and dust reduce performance, and the aircraft cannot avoid fast-moving objects. Fly with care and take manual control when needed.
